Why do we have craving for sugars?

Sugar releases natural opiates (chemicals) in the brain which are similar to feeling like the above mentioned, substances and activates the receptors in the brain. So, if you have the sweet tooth, it is very much like addiction to drugs to stimulate the pleasure centre of the brain.

Causes:

The main factors involved can be summarised into 4 parts Diet, Chronic stress, chronic inflammation and Bacterial imbalance.

  • Watch the habit, if you have a craving or a habit dessert maybe ice cream of any sweet after dinner or lunch just change it with some fruit with low GI like apple, pear etc.
  • Have nuts instead of sweet dish
  • Try munching some non-sweetened fennel seeds or cardamom after meals
  • Try cutting out on high sugar foods like pasta, pizza, bread.

Solution

Sweets intake and simple carbs, can be one of the main reasons for your most of gut problems, skin problems and its craving is nurturing all the harmful bacteria in your gut.
